Dissemination workshops in Cambodia and Vietnam

Together with local hosts and partners, the SEA-EU-NET 2 analysis team facilitated discussion workshops aimed at supporting ASEAN Member State innovation policy making

Towards the end of the SEA-EU-NET 2 project, our analysis team conducted dissemination workshops in Cambodia and Vietnam. The first workshop was organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in Cambodia and took place in Siem Reap on the 3rd of April. The second was a two-day workshop in Hanoi, 4th-5th April, organised in cooperation with NAFOSTED (National Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development), NATIF (National Technology Innovation Fund) and our partner NASATI (National Agency for Science and Technology Information).

The workshops had a double objective: Firstly, we wanted to engage in dissemination of some of the analytical work done on innovation and innovation policy. This was particularly important as Cambodia and Vietnam were not covered well during our earlier efforts in this area. The first part of the day in Siem Reap and the first day in Hanoi was reserved for this. Secondly, in conjunction with the first call of the Joint Funding Scheme (JFS), we used the opportunity to present the JFS with its background, objectives and content of the call. Together with the participants, we also explored a broad array of lessons concerning evaluation of proposals, programme management and similar issues that were seen as useful for participants in the JFS. This part of the programme was conducted during the second part of the Cambodia workshop and the second day in Hanoi. Representatives from DOST, Philippines, participated in Hanoi.

Responsible persons from SEA-EU-NET 2 were Christoph Elineau (DLR), Alexander Degelsegger (ZSI), Rudie Trienes (KNAW) and Svend Remoe (RCN). The event in Hanoi has also been featured on the website of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Feel free to contact us at degelsegger [at] zsi [dot] at in case you are interested in the material.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological
development and demonstration under grant agreement no 311784.
